The Scottish Government

The devolved government for Scotland is responsible for most of the issues of day-to-day concern to the people of Scotland, including health, education, justice, rural affairs and transport.  It aims to focus government and public services on creating a more successful country, with opportunities for all of Scotland to flourish, through increasing sustainable economic growth

As the Scottish Government’s remit is wide, it is a rich source of administrative data.  Anyone considering research in this area would be advised to initially visit their website (www.scotland.gov.uk) as it holds comprehensive summary datasets and publications on the data it holds.

The ADLS are working with the various Scottish Government departments to provide information on each of their administrative datasets.  These will be added to the website over time.  Please keep checking back or you may wish to receive notification of these updates by registering with us.
